A historic moment for youth cricket as Pakistan's Haque Academy arrives in Cape Town for its first-ever tour to South Africa, hosted by South African Sports & Culture Tours (SASCT).
An exciting new chapter in international youth cricket has begun, with Haque Academy from Pakistan arriving in Cape Town for a groundbreaking cricket and cultural tour from 4–14 November 2026.
Organised by South African Sports & Culture Tours (SASCT), the landmark visit marks the academy's first-ever cricket tour to South Africa, bringing together young cricketers, coaches and families for an unforgettable experience in the Mother City.
The tour combines competitive cricket, specialist coaching and some of Cape Town's most iconic sightseeing experiences, while strengthening sporting connections between Pakistan and South Africa.
A Historic First for Haque Academy
For Haque Academy, this inaugural visit represents an important milestone and an exciting opportunity for its young players to experience cricket beyond Pakistan's borders.
Over the next ten days, the touring party will enjoy a carefully planned programme featuring matches against local schools and cricket clubs, alongside cultural and sightseeing activities.
Ryan Maron, founder of South African Sports & Culture Tours and internationally experienced cricket coach, is delighted to welcome the academy to South Africa.
"This is a really exciting moment for Haque Academy and for us at South African Sports & Culture Tours. To welcome an academy from Pakistan on its first-ever tour to South Africa is something we're incredibly proud of. Pakistan has such a rich cricketing history, and creating opportunities for young players from both countries to compete, learn and build friendships is exactly what these tours are all about," said Maron.
Competitive Cricket and World-Class Coaching
Cricket will take centre stage throughout the tour, with Haque Academy set to face a range of established local opposition, including Sunningdale Cricket Club, Rondebosch Boys' High School, Green Point Cricket Club and Paarl Gymnasium.
The fixtures will feature different formats, including T20 and 25-over matches, giving the visiting players valuable exposure to South African pitches, conditions and playing styles.
The programme also includes a high-performance fielding session with Maron, providing the young cricketers with specialist coaching and an opportunity to develop their skills.
A visit to the iconic Newlands Cricket Ground, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cricket venues in the world, will be another highlight of the tour.
"For young cricketers, there's enormous value in playing overseas. You learn to adapt to different pitches, conditions and opposition, but you also develop confidence, independence and a greater understanding of the game. We want every player to return home having grown from the experience," Maron added.
More Than Just Cricket
While cricket forms the foundation of the visit, Haque Academy's South African adventure will extend well beyond the boundary ropes.
The group is scheduled to experience some of Cape Town's most celebrated attractions, including Table Mountain, Boulders Beach, the V&A Waterfront and the spectacular coastal scenery of Chapman's Peak.
An overnight visit to Aquila Private Game Reserve will also provide the touring party with an opportunity to experience South Africa's wildlife through guided game drives.
These experiences reflect SASCT's commitment to creating sporting tours that combine competitive opportunities with cultural discovery, adventure and personal development.
Strengthening Cricketing Connections Between Pakistan and South Africa
Haque Academy's arrival represents more than a sporting milestone. It is an opportunity to build relationships between young cricketers from two nations with a shared passion for the game.
Through competition, coaching and cultural exchange, the tour aims to create friendships and experiences that will last long after the players return home.
"What makes this tour particularly special is that it's a first. We hope it's the beginning of a long relationship with Haque Academy and that it opens the door for more young Pakistani cricketers to experience South Africa. Cricket brings people together, and that's something we're passionate about," said Maron.
An Exciting Ten Days Ahead
With the touring party now in Cape Town and an exciting programme ahead, South African Sports & Culture Tours is looking forward to delivering a memorable experience for Haque Academy.
The visit is another example of South Africa's appeal as a destination for international school and academy sports tours, combining excellent sporting facilities, competitive opposition and world-class tourism attractions.
For Haque Academy, the journey has only just begun, but its first-ever South African tour is already a significant moment in the academy's history.
South African Sports & Culture Tours is proud to welcome Haque Academy to Cape Town and looks forward to an unforgettable ten days of cricket, culture and adventure.
